Electronic visas to Saint-Petersburg and its surrounding Leningrad Region
From 1 October 2019 nationals of 53 foreign states shall have the right to obtain single entry business, humanitarian and tourist visas for visiting Saint-Petersburg and the Leningrad Region in the form of an electronic document (e-visa) on the special website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation (https://electronic-visa.kdmid.ru/spb_home_en.html).
E-visas for visiting Saint-Petersburg and the Leningrad Region are valid for entering the Russian Federation and exiting therefrom only when travelling by air-, motor- or maritime ways and also without any means of transport through the following checkpoints at the national border of the Russian Federation situated in the territories of Saint-Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.
Entry into the territories of Saint-Petersburg and the Leningrad Region with an e-visa by railway is currently impossible due to technical reasons.
An e-visa shall be issued free of charge on the basis of a foreign national’s application filled in online on the above-mentioned website not later than 4 days before the assumed date of entry with a digital photo in electronic format attached to it. No other documents are required for obtaining the e-visa.
E-visas are issued for a period of validity of 30 days with an authorized period of stay up to 8 days from the time of entry to the territories of Saint-Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.
Foreign nationals who obtained e-visas for visiting Saint-Petersburg and the Leningrad Region shall have the right to stay and travel only within these territories. Holders of such visas are not allowed to enter other parts of the Russian Federation for the purpose of transiting to Saint-Petersburg and the Leningrad Region or exiting them, including via airports.
Electronic visas to the Kaliningrad Region
From 1 July 2019, electronic visas are introduced for visiting the Kaliningrad Region of Russia. E-visas may be obtained online at the special website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation https://electronic-visa.kdmid.ru/klgd_home_en.html.
Nationals of 53 states are eligible for an e-visa. An e-visa only allows a single entry (for business, tourism or a humanitarian visit) for a maximum term of 8 days.
It allows entry into the Kaliningrad Region through border crossings located in that region, i.e. by direct flight to Kaliningrad (but not via another Russian airport), by sea, railway or road.
An e-visa does not allow travel to other regions of Russia.
Electronic visas to Vladivostok and the Far East
Electronic visas are introduced for visiting Vladivostok and the Far East of Russia. E-visas may be obtained online at the special website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation https://electronic-visa.kdmid.ru/home_en.html.
Nationals of 18 states are eligible for an e-visa. An e-visa only allows a single entry (for business, tourism or a humanitarian visit) to Vladivostok and the Far East.
It allows entry to Vladivostok and the Far East through border crossings located in that region.
An e-visa does not allow travel to other regions of Russia.
Pay special attention!!!
Foreign citizens bear personal responsibility for the accuracy of their personal data provided by them when applying for an e-visa, including the spelling of their last name and first name(s) in exact (literal) accordance with the passport. In case of complete or partial mismatch of these data with the data in the passport (citizenship, last name, first name(s), date of birth, gender, passport number), or the provision of non-personal photographs, they will be denied entry to the Russian Federation at the checkpoint of the State Border of the Russian Federation, and their e-visas issued on the basis of false information will be canceled. The only exceptions are cases when the names of a foreign citizen contain more letters than is accepted by the application form for an e-visa.
